Baby boomers will remember the “Dinah Shore Chevy Show” and the opening lines of her commercial, “See the U.S.A. in your Chevrolet!”  Later she sings, “So make a date today, to see the U.S.A. — and see it in a Chevrolet!”Now, thanks to Venture Galleries, boomers, their children, and grandchildren have a new way to see the U.S.A. — a unique combination of travel photography and travel oriented books.   Caleb Pirtle III and Stephen Woodfin have assembled work from a cabal of award winning artists and authors representing a cross section of experience and flavor from around the country.    Painters, photographers and graphic artists join talents with authors of both fiction and non-fiction to provide visual and reading experiences to compliment the imaginations of those who love to travel and/or read.

By hosting new media work on a Web site, curators can show whatever work they have the bandwidth to upload, choosing whatever frame and context they like for the art they want to display.”

Whether the journey is into the darkest depths of the soul or along a footpath on the Blue Ridge Parkway, visitors will experience  both emotional involvement and the sensual pleasures of exotic locales — all without leaving the comfort of their favorite reading room.  Venture Galleries’ e-books will have live links to photos of scenes and settings.  Photographs will be accompanied by blogs that tell the rest of the story of the image.
